Preschool Philosophy

Welcome to Happy Day Preschool! My philosophy of preschool is that it should be a safe, fun, positive experience that supports children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.  I take my responsibility as a preschool teacher very seriously--my serious work is helping your child laugh, play, and learn to develop the skills they will need for kindergarten.  I named my school Happy Day because that is what I want your child to experience each time they walk in the door.

Letting kids be kids is what my preschool is about. We will sing, dance, wiggle, and shake! You will find your child developing new skills and abilities through alphabet-based literacy activities. We will also learn literary, artistic, scientific, and mathematical skills using the {project approach}. We will learn about the world by asking questions and seeking the answers in a variety of ways. All of the activities we do--playing, singing, acting, coloring, cutting, etc.--develop your child's mind, body, and social abilities. Truly, a child's work is play!

My goal is to help your children to love learning, be respectful of others, and have fun. Letting kids be themselves--silly, smart, happy kids--is one of the greatest gifts we can give them.
